MEET LAIKA
Laika is an 8yr old Husky girl. Very calm and quiet. She is a little timid and unsure at the moment as she has come from stray kennels which was a very scary experience for her. She was taken into the kennels as an abandoned dog, very underweight and suffering from a skin infection due to a bad flea allergy. She hasn't been claimed by her previous owner and was out of time at the kennels so we were asked to help her at the 11th hour. Luckily we had a Husky experienced foster carer step up and so she will be staying in our care until all her vet work, health checks etc are carried out and she will be fully assessed. She will need spaying, vaccinating, blood works, skin treatments, a dental and whatever else crops up on the vet check. Laika is a lovely girl who just wants to be loved and have a good life. We will ensure she is well cared for in her loving home environment whilst she awaits her permanent home. If you could offer Laika a loving home, have a secure garden with 6ft fencing, no cats or kids under 12yrs and have the time and love to offer her then please get in touch asap.
Home checks, ID checks etc will apply.
MEET MOLLY
Molly is absolutely stunning, she is a 3yr old Cane Corso girl, very sweet and calm in nature and very well behaved.
We agreed to take this beautiful girl on from the stray kennels a few weeks ago as she had received no interest and sadly wasn’t claimed by her previous owners.
Her time was quickly running out and so an appeal for her life was ran and thankfully a fabulous foster was found.
Sadly though she was underweight and very poorly when she arrived into foster, having a severe case of kennel cough which had turned bacterial and developed into pneumonia.
She has since been on lots of antibiotics which we are happy to report is doing the job nicely and she’s made a fantastic recovery. She’s such a sweet natured girl with a very maternal side , very calm and nurturing. She has been around other dogs and has shown no problems around any she has met. She has been clean in the house and walks lovely on the lead and has good recall off lead. She is so affectionate and loving and will make someone a really wonderful dog. Please don't be put off by her size (48kgs) as Molly is the gentlest dog you could meet, she takes treats and plays with toys with a gentleness that is amazing to watch, she is such a beautiful natured dog whose favourite thing is to snooze on the sofa, she just loves her sleep. She has been great with everyone she has met, strangers coming to the house, kids over 6yrs and other dogs. She cannot live with cats though as she shows too much interest in them. Obviously she is a Cane Corso, so isn’t small and still has a little more weight to gain. She really doesn’t get in the way and likes nothing more than snoozing, well apart form a lovely walk, ooh and a tasty sausage!!!!
She does have cherry eye on her right eye though which is pretty much standard for this breed, but we will be getting this operated on for her in the new year as well as getting her spayed and vaccinated now she is well enough. In the meantime she will remain in her loving foster home whilst she waits for the right family to fall in love with her. Could that be you???
Home checks, ID checks etc will apply.
MEET LOLA
This sweet, sassy Lhasa Apso girly is 11yrs young who came into our rescue as an emergency case having been to the grooomers and them noticing she wasn't well, luckily for her. She had blood coming from her back end and seemed very unwell and weak. The owner was out of his depth and didn't have the funds to offer her the surgery she urgently needed to save her life so he signed her over to our rescue. She was suffering from a fatal womb infection called Pyometra and needed surgery to remove her womb asap. She also had a benign tumour on her leg which our vet removed successfully, 6 teeth removed, an umbilical hernia repair, ears flushed out and eyes checked thoroughly as they were both ulcerated and very painful and a full check over of heart, lungs, bloods etc which thankfully were all good. So the difference in this little girl is unbelievable. She is such a happy little one, she follows her foster mum around everywhere and insists on sitting on her lap even when she is trying to work!. She is a true "velcro" dog so she needs an owner that loves that and will be a true companion for her as she will be for them. When she first came to us she wasn't housetrained but she is learning really well now and being clean most of the time. Lola is such a sweetheart, a lovely nature and great with other dogs. We're not sure about cats unfortunately. She is a real character who will make you laugh with her ways and she loves her food too. She does suffer from dry eye so she has to have lubricant applied to her eyes twice a day for the rest of her life. This gel can be bought from the chemist so is very cheap but it must be given as she can't produce her own tears. Other than that she is a healthy little girl who is just starting to understand the joys of going out for a walk and playing with her toys. She hasn't lived with children and so we would prefer an adult only home for her, someone who is home a lot as she loves to be around her humans. She would love a couple of gentle walks a day too. Lola is fully vaccinated, neutered, health checked and microchipped by our charity ready for her new home. A secure garden with fencing over 4ft is required. We are looking for someone to give Lola a quiet home, with all the love and attention she needs and maybe a couple of short walks a day. Home checks, ID checks etc will apply.
MEET NALA
This Gorgeous Border Collie girl is 8 Years old but is fit as a fiddle. She is great with other dogs and had lived with another girl (Maisie) all her life with no issues. She has also lived with children and has always been gentle with them but we will only look to rehome her with children over 6 yrs of age just to be fair to her. She is good on the lead and loves her walks and is always pleased to say hello with the waggiest, wiggliest back end. Nala would love someone to be around for her, give her real companionship as she just craves love and attention. She is not a big girl, say male cocker in size but she can jump up when greeting you. She is a good traveller and non reactive on the lead to other dogs. In fact she want to say hello to every dog she sees, she just loves them, she is very submissive towards other dogs and will flop on her back to them. Nala is now fully vaccinated, neutered, health checked and microchipped. A secure garden with fencing over 5ft is required as standard as it is for all our dogs as well as someone who can give Nala all the love and attention she needs. Home checks, ID checks etc will apply.
MEET HOLLY
(Not ready to adopt just yet but are taking applications for near future)
This sweet, shy Springer Spaniel girl is 11yrs old and has been severely neglected yet she is still the loveliest sweet natured girl. She is great with other dogs and has lived with lots of dogs all her life with no issues. Sadly Holly came from a hoarding situation and lived with over 35 other dogs in total. She hasn't lived with children and is very timid so we would prefer an adult only home for her. At the moment she is too scared to walk on a lead as she isn't used to being outdoors but we are working on this and she is gaining in confidence every day. Holly will be fully vaccinated, neutered, health checked and microchipped by our charity over the next coming weeks and as soon as she is strong enough to undergo the surgery. A secure garden with fencing over 6ft is required as she is timid so could jump anything shorter than this. We are looking for someone to give Holly a quiet home, with all the love and attention she needs and maybe a couple of short walks a day once she is up to it. Home checks, ID checks etc will apply.
MEET BETSY & WILLOW
Beautiful Betsy and Willow are two young Golden Retriever girls (4 & 2) looking for a loving home together due to the owner’s serious illness and current hospitalisation. It’s very sad for them and their family but they want to do what is best for them both long term and it’s currently a matter of urgency as soon they will have nobody to look after them whilst their owner is in hospital. Ideally we would really like to keep them together but know this is a big ask with a larger breed like a Goldie but hope and pray there is someone out there that can help and offer them a 5* home.
Both girls are dog friendly and have been around a 6 yr old child quite happily but NO CATS sorry. They are active girls who love long walks and also need company. Ideally we are looking for someone who will be around for them most of the day to take them on long walks and give them the attention they love. Both girls can be a bit nervous meeting new people at first but some come round so they would need an experienced home, they would not be suitable as first time dogs. Both girls are very friendly, clean in the house, travel well and can be left for short periods. They will need a completely secure garden, preferably a decent size with fencing of at least 5ft. Both girls will be spayed and vaccinated by our charity as soon as it is safe to do so. Again priority will be given to applicants wanting to rehome them both together we have to give them that chance
Home checks, ID checks etc will apply.
MEET MAISIE
Maisie is a gorgeous 8 yr old Springer Spaniel who is loving home. She came into our rescue with Nala who she has lived with all her life with no issues. She is dog friendly and has lived with children over 6yrs old. She loves her walks and would love a home where she can get a good couple of walks a day and plenty of company. A fully enclosed garden with fencing over 5ft is required As standard. Maisie is neutered and vaccinated and health checked. Home checks, ID checks etc will apply.
MEET FINN
FINN is a 6 months old Border Collie puppy who is an absolute sweetheart. He loves people and has never shown any aggression. He is good with other dogs but can be a bit full with playing so another playful young dog would be better . He will be neutered by our rescue as soon as he is old enough and will be adopted out on a neutering contract. He's good in the car and is housetrained. He has lived with older children before (8 yrs and above) but will chase cats. He is such a loving and affectionate boy and very smart as collies are and is a collie lovers dream in the making.
MEET ROCKY
This poor little older Jack Russell boy has come into us due to losing his elderly owner recently. He is a little bewildered in his foster home at the moment as you would expect but settling in well with the other dogs. We have noticed he is deaf though so a home what will understand this and make allowances for him. It’s really not difficult as dogs do respond to body language naturally and Rocky gets by just fine. He will be vet checked, neutered and given a full dental as soon as possible and will then be ready for his new home. If you think you may be able to offer this spritely bud sad little lad a loving home, please complete an application form asap. We would love him to be in his new home in time for Christmas Day. A fully enclosed garden with fencing over 5ft is required as it is for all our dogs. Home checks, ID checks etc will apply.
MEET DUKE
This handsome golden Labrador is a 3yr old boy who is looking for a new home after his owners emigrated recently. He is a lovely chap who loves to play with his toys and spend time with his family. Unfortunately he is a little scared out on walks due to having a firework thrown at him when he was a youngster, but we have been working on this and he is now doing really well and enjoying walks in the country. However he will need an understanding and patient owner to continue this work going forward. We are looking for a home, preferably in a quieter location who can give him lots of company, with a decent sized, secure garden for him. He is good in the house and in the car, good on the lead and loves people and been fine with other dogs out and about. He hasn’t lived with children in the past so any kids would need to be over 10 yrs old just to be safe. He hasn’t lived with cats either so no to cats I’m afraid. Duke is vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, and is micro chipped. Home checks, ID checks etc will apply.
MEET SETH
Seth is approximately a 12 months old staffy cross who absolutely loves people andnever shown any aggression to other dogs. He's good in the car and is housetrained. He would be better with older children or adult only home just because of his typical staffy excitement & would probably knock over a small child as he can jump up when he is excited. Seth walks well on a lead, he does pull to start with due to excitement but does settle down quickly. Seth will be neutered and fully vaccinated ready for his new home He has been treated for fleas and worms, and is micro chipped. Home checks, ID checks etc will apply. **Please Note** Seth is advertised on behalf of another local rescue who offer full rescue back up
MEET TIA
Beautiful Tia is a 9 yr old Staffy girl whose owner sadly passed away earlier this year. Tia is urgently looking for her new forever home after being in our care for many months now without any interest at all. This is really sad as she has so much to offer her new owner and is a truly adorable little girl. Anyone who has ever owned a staffy will know just how wonderful they are and how much love they can bring to a home. She is currently in a lovely foster home, where she is getting all the love and attention she deserves but she cannot stop there forever unfortunately and poor Tia is getting more and more settled in which worries us for when she finally has to more on. She needs someone around most of the day, but can cope for an hour or two alone during the day. She is also quite an active girl and so will need someone willing and able to give her a good couple of walks each and every day and a garden in between to play etc. She's very bright and just loves to do training and do her best to please you, so anyone who loves to do this would be great for her. She really is such a sweetheart and very loving and loyal, you can't help but love her. Tia would be better as the only pet in the home as she can be hit an miss out on walks but largely ignores other dogs out and about. She has never lived with children and can be unsure around them, so any resident or visiting kids would need to be over 16 years of age. A fully enclosed garden with fencing over 5ft is required as it is for all our dogs. Tia is spayed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, and is micro chipped. Home checks, ID checks etc will apply.
